I value open communication with parents and see caregiving as a collaborative, trusting relationship. I'm reliable, communicative, have my own vehicle, love animals, and enjoy outdoor adventures. I'm seeking like-minded families for a full time nanny share beginning in Fall 2025. My previous experience includes 4 years in a nanny share, a year in a COVID learning pod, and roles as a lead teacher in Reggio Emilia and RIE-inspired preschools, where I embraced the philosophy that children are competent, capable learners, and integrated social justice into early learning. I hold a BSW with a minor in Child & Family Studies from PSU and plan to pursue my MSW. I moved here from Michigan 7 years ago with my dog, and now share my home with my two cats and chosen family. We hired Alex for the 2020/21 school year to teach our 4 year old and to assist our 2nd grader with distance learning. There were also 2 other families with similar aged kids (three 2nd graders and three PreK kids total). Alex did an amazing job creating curriculum for the PreK kids which was anti-biased and included social activism and inclusion. The curriculum was based on the kids' interests and included art at least once a day. They also played outside and explored the neighborhood and nearby parks daily. Alex also did a wonderful job facilitating conflicts, they helped make sure every kid was heard, and would guide the kids to making a solution together. Alex followed the COVID-19 protocols, and always erred on the side of safety. I trusted Alex 110% with my kids. I would hire Alex again in a heartbeat and they are the first person on my list to call for Date Nights.
