I have worked as a caregiver in many ways. I have worked with people with disabilities of all ages, so I am fully experienced in care giving. My grandmother, who is 97 years old, lives with us and has been for about 10 years. I have been providing her with support since she moved into our home. My older sister also has CP, therefore making me experienced in all areas of care given, tube feeding, medication monitoring, transportation, bathing etc. I also worked for DDS, Department of Developmental Services for the state of CT. I learned about respite care for clients ranging from age 18 to age 70. Being a young age allows me to easily lift people or heavy objects as well as having a flexible schedule.
