About Aletha

I have always enjoyed connecting with older adults. My initial interest in social work was motivated by a passion for end of life care, which led me to a desire to work with seniors in more of a long term care context. I took a detour for several years while my partner was in nursing school & I was developing my vision for the next chapter. Recently I finished a CNA program & am working towards the long term goal of opening an adult care home here in the metro area. I love working with seniors whether that's in a companionship context, for help with cooking and errands, gardening, cleaning, or with personal care. I understand how difficult it can be to rely on others for help and I strive to engage in a way that builds trust and supports the dignity of the individual. I believe that our elders have an important role to play in the world and one that our western culture often under values. I aim to provide care that is caring, respectful and person-centered.
