About Alena

Hi! My name is Alena and I am a sophomore at Florida Gulf Coast University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have also worked part-time as a cashier at Publix since 2022, and will likely continue to until I graduate college. I have lots of volunteer experience working with children, Including: nursery work at my church, VBS leadership volunteering, classroom student teaching and teacher shadowing, mini Cheer camp leading (teaching young girls cheerleading), and previous babysitting experience. I also have experience in animal care, fostering kittens at Nate's Honor Animal Rescue for four years as well as volunteering at Gulf Coast Humane society. I'd describe my personality as reliable, hard-working, and adaptable. I like working with kids because I believe our early years are our most important years, and being able to provide a fun, meaningful experience to children is very fulfilling.
