I worked at an assisted living/nursing home for three years while I was in college as an activities assistant and absolutely loved it! I am pursing a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant and have an interest in working with the senior population. During my schooling so far, I have lead various activity groups to people in dementia care units, assisted living homes and adult day care centers. I love the daily interactions with the participants. The stories they share and the knowledge they have gained through all of their life just amazes me. There is no better reward than seeing a smile on their face after a fun activity or just a good conversation.
