Senior Nursing Student- Graduating December 2015- Planning To Work In Pediatrics
Being a nursing student hoping to pursue a career in pediatrics, working with children is what I do best. Having participated in a pediatric nursing clinical rotation at the University of Virginia Pediatric Unit, as well as participating in a pediatric respite care program, Precious Times, I know how to interact with children in a positive way, create fun and age-appropriate activities and most importantly, bring out my inner- child side to make the most out of my visits. Throughout my pediatric unit (hospital) rotation, I mastered my skills in caring for children in a clinical sense. Throughout my experience in the Precious Times program, I cared for a child with special needs over the course of several months. I provided fun activities, hygiene care as well as meals prepared at the home. I am so passionate about working with children because their resilience to life's ups and downs, as well as their creativeness with anything they do, is so intriguing and inspiring to me. I would love to continue my passion of working with children both now and after my college graduation in December 2015.
