Patient Professional Tutor

I am licensed in California to teach all curriculum in grades 1 - 6. In order to have a flexible schedule when my children were younger, I taught 6th grade Science, Math, and History; tutored students in grades 3 through 12 in all subjects; worked as a 5th and 6th grade teachers aide, volunteered with Adult Literacy and ESL programs, and substitute taught in grades K - 12. Teaching and working with kids is a delight! I enjoy finding new ways of making the connections that tap into the way they learn. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Managerial Accounting from NYIT; graduating Cum Laude with a GPA of 3. 8. My ACT average score was 35, and am currently working on my Masters. I have over 20 years experience as an accountant and work with a nonprofit organization devoted to assisting victims of violence and abuse. I have tutored Accounting, Finance, and Economics for over 15 years. Accounting is my passion, and I truly enjoy sharing what I have learned with students.

She tutors me in English and helps me with my essays...she's awesome! She gives me her undivided attention during my session and even helps me outside of my session on her own time just to make sure my essay is perfect! She's so sweet and probably the nicest person you will ever meet. She's positive all the time, understanding, and flexible. She genuinely cares about me and will do anything to help me be successful. I'm so thankful for Carrie! She is so much more to me than just my tutor!

PhD Student Offering Tutoring Services For Math And Test Prep

(4)
Hello! My name is Alana, and I am a third year Math Education PhD student! I have taught middle school, high school, and community college mathematics over the past seven years. I have also tutored since I was an undergraduate student. My background is in both mathematics and statistics, as those were my undergraduate majors. I love working with students and helping them gain confidence in their academic endeavors! I know from teaching and tutoring that having confidence makes such a difference for students. I have watched so many students grow and develop into amazing mathematicians, and I am looking forward to helping your student do the same! I am more than happy to tutor at your home, a local library, a coffee shop, etc. Currently, I'm working on my dissertation, so my tutoring schedule is pretty flexible, especially in the afternoons and evenings. If you think I might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out! Thanks for your time,

Alana is a doctoral student who demonstrates a very high aptitude for teaching. Our daughter has historically struggled with math. We hired Alana as a tutor for Algebra I and then Algebra II. Our goal was for our daughter to achieve Bs. However, secondary to her own efforts and Alana's patient, supportive and astute teaching methods our daughter achieved As in these courses at a quality high school. Alana has a warm personality and is very flexible within her own academic schedule.
