The former Bruckmann Brewery complex in Cincinnati is one of the most complete 19th brewery sites in the country. Brewing began at this location in 1856 and continued for nearly 100 years. Most major components of the brewery are still in existence including the brewhouse, malthouse, bottling building, stables, family home, power plant, and the underground lagering cellars! After brewing operations ceased in 1950, much of the site was repurposed for other businesses including the Fountain Winery in the 1970s and the headquarters and production facility of the Worthmore Food Products Company, who specialized in producing Cincinnati style chili and mock turtle soup. This site has not been open to tours before and the Brewing Heritage Trail has put a lot of work into repairing the site, so that we can bring guests inside several of the buildings and into the underground lagering cellars. Take a walking tour with Ken Naegele, the Necro Tourist at the historic Wesleyan Cemetery. Visit the grave sites of significant people who impacted US and Cincinnati history. Hear their stories and see how they are memorialized.

Over-the-Rhine is a historic neighborhood comprised of amazing structures both above and below the ground. Come and explore with us as we walk (approx. one mile total) and ride the streetcar to major topside landmarks such as Findlay Market, Music Hall, Washington Park, and the location of the Miam-Erie Canal. We'll also learn about it's underground history as we stop by several places from above, including the pre-Prohibition lagering facility of the Lafayette Brewery and Cincinnati's abandoned subway system below Central Parkway. Then we'll go three stories underground, where the Gerke Brewery fermented and cold-stored their beer dating back to the 1850s. This requires guests to traverse a series of steep stairs and is not recommended for young children or those who have difficulty with stairs, but anyone in attendance is welcome to remain topside. Our journey concludes at a local taproom, where we'll have a round of pints, just a few blocks away from our starting point.

The Cincinnati Streetcar is an easy way to travel from Findlay Market to the Central Business District. This comfortable, modern streetcar follows a route close to most major downtown attractions, and our tour allows guests to experience some of the locally-owned restaurants along the line. Our combination of local history, good food, and small groups makes this the perfect introduction to any Cincinnati experience. Tour also available for private groups.

This is an outdoor walking tour of less than one mile and includes a beer at the Northern Row Brewery & Distillery. Tours run rain or shine and guests should wear comfortable footwear, as the tour route covers a variety of paved and unpaved surfaces. Professional baseball began in Cincinnati and this unique experience takes guests to every location where the Reds played during the 19th and 20th century, tracing the connections between local brewing and baseball. Beginning at the Moerlein Lager House, next to Great American Ballpark and at the site of Riverfront Stadium, we head out via bus to Union Grounds, where the undefeated 1869 Red Stockings played baseball! Avenue Grounds, Bank Street Grounds, League Park, and Palace of the Fans, we go to them all! Crosley Field is certainly on the list, as is the original Crosley Radio Factory, where Powell Crosley built his broadcast empire before purchasing the Reds. We also head into the Brewery District to check out some of the brewing structures tied to Reds history. Tickets include a souvenir map and a pint of beer at the Moerlein Lager House. Tours run most Saturdays the Reds have a home game.

Starting at the Brewing Heritage Trail Sign at Findlay Market, this brewing history and architecture tour walks the western portion of the Brewery District, marveling at the many remaining 19th and early 20th century structures and sharing stories of those who built or doomed these brewing empires during beer’s industrial revolution. Tours include a visit into the subterranean lager cellars of the historic (non-operating) Jackson Brewery, as well as outdoor visitation to the Sohn/Mohawk Brewery, several Christian Moerlein sites, and the location of the Bellevue Incline. The Jackson Brewery cellars were excavated from the hillside under the brewery, so we enter from street level and there are no stairs to climb going in or out, making these cellars very accessible and the total walking distance of this tour is less than a mile. At the tour conclusion, we stop in at a neighborhood taproom for a pint of local beer, included with each ticket!
