Seeking a dependable and compassionate caregiver to provide respite care for a 17-year-old male with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He is nonverbal, wheelchair-dependent, and receives nutrition, medication, and hydration through a G-tube. Comprehensive training will be provided, no prior medical background is required. Schedule: Part-time, 6-12 hour shifts as needed Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays Beginning in November, shifts will be required every weekend (every other weekend prior to November) Compensation: $25 per hour, paid through the waiver program. Requirements: Minimum 18 years of age Valid driver's license (transportation via oversized van may be required) Ability to follow detailed care instructions and maintain a safe environment Reliability, patience, and strong communication skills Care responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Suctioning of secretions as needed Bathing, grooming, and diaper changes Monitoring of seizure activity, administering rescue medication and utilizing vagus nerve magnet when necessary Assistance with respiratory therapy Repositioning from bed to wheelchair every two hours Cleaning and sanitizing medical equipment Maintaining a clean environment, including bedding changes and room upkeep Assistance with transportation in an oversized van for appointments or activities, if needed.
