COMPANION CARE PROVIDER OPENING WHAT A Companion Care Home is a residential option for up to 3 individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to live in a home with 1 live-in service provider. Companion Care Providers are non-family members sharing a home owned by another entity that promotes a natural, family environment with stability and increased continuity of care. WHO The Candidate Is at least 18 years of age Must have a high school diploma or equivalency or a successfully completed written competency based assessment with 3 personal references Has a valid Texas driver's license and proof of auto insurance Must complete all training Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 documents as proof of location of residence and Must not have been convicted of a barrable offense. Responsibilities Facetoface assistance with acquiring, retaining, and/or improving self-help, socialization skills, and adaptive skills that are necessary for the individual to successfully reside, integrate, and participate in the community Develop and or improve skills that allow the individual to live more independently Secure and or providing transportation. Expectations Provide a structured and loving environment. Allow the individuals to be as independent as possible. Engage in leisure activities. HOW Time Off 2 weeks regular holidays mutually agreed upon Go Weekend each month Support services such a specialized therapy, behavior support and dietary prior to and throughout the individuals stay at the home. HOW MUCH Based on individual's level of need Tax free based on IRS Hardship Income Finding
