PARAPROFESSIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION: This opening is for a DAYTIME (12-5:30 M-F) paraprofessional (experienced working with ASD students, including those using AAC for speech generation) to work with a high school aged student who receives his education in a community-based environment in a 2 staff:1 student model. In this educational environment, a small core team of professionals (special educator, vocational instructor, occupational therapist, speech pathologists) embeds his curriculum into natural learning opportunities across settings. This dynamic community-based approach to teaching is designed to help mitigate the student's tendency toward splintered skills and to provide a compressive learning experience. REQUIREMENTS: DAYTIME WORKING HOURS 12:00-5:30 M-F, (NO applicants with availability only after 3pm, please).
