About the job

I am seeking a patient individual to assist my 4-year-old daughter who has selective mutism. She is fully verbal but experiences nervousness around new people. My goal is to facilitate fade-ins in public and social settings. All sessions will be attended by me (her mother) and her sister. I will provide instructions to guide the process. Responsibilities: • Meet with me and my daughter in public places (e. g., library, restaurants, community spaces) for 2 hour sessions. • Begin by approaching through play without direct verbal interaction to her, then gradually progress toward natural conversation • Participate in 1-2 in-person meetings depending on her progress. • Conduct short phone and video calls after to help generalize communication across settings. • Scheduling is flexible and will be arranged in advance.
