A is a friendly 19-year-old young man. He loves to play games, do puzzles, bike rides, play music, and read books. Biggest challenge is distracting him from electronics! He has a Dual Diagnosis of Down Syndrome/Autism. He wears an insulin pump and blood glucose monitor. His diabetes is well managed and requires 100% assistance. He attends school and is a life long student of academics (homeschool curriculum). He is making great strides. He uses an iPad and PECS to communicate (minimally vocal). He does not have aggressive or fleeing behaviors.. JOB DESCRIPTION: Manage blood sugars for Type I Diabetes, assist/provide direction with daily activities, help increase skills for independence, help client perform simple daily functions. WOULD APPRECIATE help with homework, speech/physical therapy, and light housework.
