About who needs care: My mother is having mobility issues and needs help getting up and down. She is lonely and needs companionship and someone who can drive as she no longer is able to. The person supporting her must love dogs and scrabble and chit-chasing. She needs some help with food preparation, light cleanup after meals, and remembering her medications. About the care needs: My mother does not want to feel infantilized. She hates it if she is talked over or excluded from conversations and decisions about her care. She needs a friend, someone that will admire her dogs and talk with her about them endlessly, someone that is comfortable helping feeding and maybe walking the dogs (they are geriatric too!) My mom is still very with it mentally (she is a scrabble card shark!) and needs someone who will genuinely enjoy playing games, maybe doing some art together, and just hanging out. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
