About who needs care: Im a nonbinary neurodivergent wheelchair user with chronic fatigue syndrome, looking for a home aide to be paid via medicaid consumer directed care. I need help with physical tasks as well as executive functioning. Since I dont like touch, the goal is to enable me to do my own bathing, dressing, and grooming by delegating the tasks that take a lot of my physical spoons. I live with my partner, who has a cat. They also have chronic fatigue and are going to school full time, so they cant be relied upon to help me. The cat is friendly, but if youre allergic this may not be the household for you. Ideally Id like someone who can come in 6-7 days a week, but I can make things work with weekdays only. I get up around noon so afternoon hours are best for your shifts, with some flexibility. About the care needs: As my home aide, your duties would include: cooking (and dishes) cleaning laundry helping me find things helping me organize my things making phone calls assisting me with paperwork prompting me to do things moving things where I need them (not heavy furniture, more tidying and fetching things that I need) generally assisting me with physical tasks, like plugging in a lamp running errands driving me places (including assisting me with disassembling and reassembling my chair to go in the car) Im looking for someone who is detail oriented and enjoys doing a job well. If you dont know how to do something Im happy to teach you! If you get along with weirdos and like science we should get along well. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
