Consumer-Directed Attendant Needed

About the job

Our daughter is a young adult with Down syndrome who enjoys listening to music, dancing. She communicates through nonverbal cues. She may display behavioral challenges, such as scratching herself when upset and occasionally damaging belongings when frustrated. The attendant will assist with: • Daily assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) • Providing transportation to and from activities or appointments • Offering calm, structured redirection during behavioural episodes Qualifications: • Female applicants preferred -- due to personal care needs • Must be patient and dependable • Comfortable working with individuals with intellectual disabilities • Experience with personal care • References required (at least two) To apply contact Sasko at 804-747-1005.
