About who needs care: My father has dementia and trouble getting around the house (knee issues and instability). He requires 24/7 observation and care. He enjoys going on walks in his wheelchair and sitting in the sunroom reading the paper or watching TV. Most of the time he goes from his bed to the sunroom. He enjoys ice cream at night. He is very easy going and polite. We just can't let him be alone because he forgets what he is incapable of and where he is. About the care needs: Someone who is polite and can speak clearly (he has difficulty hearing and understanding in some cases). The caregiver should be able to provide stability when taking him to the bathroom and help him clean up after. He does like to eat, cooking skills would be beneficial. Provide constant supervision. Provide medications when needed, take blood pressure, etc. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
