About who needs care: My father-in-law has dementia. The duties are pretty light. We just bring him a cup of coffee in the mornings, and my mother-in-law has a cup of juice. They get their own breakfast (they like it later in the morning) and then we feed them dinner around 4:30. We also make sure they have regular groceries and medications. We really just need someone present in case an emergency comes up, like if he falls. About the care needs: My in-laws are lovely people and are super easy to get along with, always nice and cordial. My mother-in-law has all of her intellectual capacities, but my father-in-law has dementia (but is never angry, always very friendly). The primary need is that my husband and I want to visit our kids and see our new grandbaby, but we don't have someone who can stay here and care for them. Also, we have two dogs that need walking. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
