Arrive at the home and make lunch for Gigi, take her in her car to run errands or an activity from 1-2pm, pick up grandkids in car-rider line from 2-3pm, come home and do light housework while providing the two kids (8 & 10) and Gigi with supervision while they do homework and play. Chores will include loading and unloading dishwasher daily, assisting with laundry to keep it moving throughout the week, sweeping and mopping the floor, letting the dogs out to go potty. Gigi had a stroke last year and it impacts endurance, speed, and strength. She is regaining her mobility but moves slowly. Her outings should be a couple times a week and limited to one hour or less of being active. She also has signs of Parkinson's and Dementia. She does have doctor's appointments that she will need to be taken to. She wants to be social but needs assistance and someone to drive her. Things like- taking her to the library to check out books, the Senior Center to play cards, walking through an antique shop, taking her to Cracker Barrel for lunch because she likes to walk around the shop, running errands with her like getting a haircut, or pedicure, or to pick out a new nail polish. When she's not out, she loves to watch Game Show Network and guess all the answers. We're looking for someone who can encourage and motivate her to move and find ways to engage. She wants to be a hands on grandparent so driving her car to pick up her grandkids is the absolute highlight of each day. We want her to continue to contribute to the household chores and expect the caregiver to hold her accountable to find ways to help out- usually sorting and folding laundry from the couch, making the family grocery list for the week, cooking an easy meal in the crock pot. To get to the home, you'll drive your own car and park it in the driveway. While caregiving, you will drive Gigi's car and Gigi will pay for gas. When doing activities like pedicures, or eating out, Gigi will pay for yours too. She's generous and doesn't take no for an answer. Our family includes three big dogs and they are a staple in the home. They are inside dogs and are not crated. We are looking for someone who is very comfortable being around big dogs. We also have a fish tank and guinea pigs. The kids manage pet care for the family.
