About who needs care: My sister Moira is a friendly and personable 55-year-old who suffered a traumatic brain injury and now experiences short-term memory loss. We are seeking a compassionate caregiver to come over two or three days a week to take Moira out for shopping, nail and hair appointments, gym visits, and other activities. While Moira is able to use the bathroom and dress herself, she does require assistance with transportation in the caregiver's own car, for which we will pay a gas mileage rate. Due to her memory challenges, Moira may sometimes become agitated or frustrated, so patience and understanding are important qualities for anyone interested in this role. Thank you! About the care needs: The ideal care giver would be someone with some past experience with helping people with brain injuries or disabilities. Patience and understanding along with compassion would be ideal. In addition, someone would need to use their own vehicle to take Moira to doctor appointments, occasional shopping, gym and nail and hair appointments locally. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
