About who needs care: My father is an amputee. He lost his right leg in December. He needs assistance getting in and out of bed, into his wheelchair, etc. He has a catheter and he needs assistance with toileting. He has a sharp mind but he needs help dressing, washing, toileting, medication and meal prep. He is currently in hospice care through St Lukes hospital. My mother also lives in the home. She has memory issues but she is self-sufficient for the most part. We currently employ 2 full time caregivers. One works from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. The other works 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday -Friday. On the weekends, he is cared for by family members. We are looking to add a third person to cover mostly some night time shifts and an occasional weekend or weekday shift. About the care needs: My father and mother would prefer an older, female caretaker. Someone with a kind heart and good sense of humor. They should be able to perform transfers. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
