About who needs care: I think the important part is that I need a spotter to walk to get to the toilet. I would be using a gait belt and a quad cane. I want my 2 existing home caregivers who are my wife and my daughter-in-law to be able to sleep through the night more often. Therapist s think I am close to being cleared to do this myself so I don't need heavy lifting anything like that just a contact guard to hold the gate belt as I walked the toilet with my quad cane. And occasionally to help me adjust blankets and sheets when I am in bed. Help durimg the day is less important although we could talk about it. A little more about me: I was completely independent until my stroke on October 31. I have minimal cognitive damage, mostly just very weak on my left side. I have an AFO and shoes that make it easy to put them on. So the most important tasks are to just be available to help with the AFO on and the shoes and then contact guard well I walk to the toilet with my quad cane. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver would be OK sitting quietly doing the night at three in the morning and so on. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
