About who needs care: Joanne has late-stage MS, uses a wheelchair, and has limited dexterity along with short-term memory challenges. She is very weak and requires a lot of hands-on support with most daily tasks. Despite her limitations, she is a warm, loving, and positive woman who finds joy in simple pleasures especially art, nature, and telling stories. About the care needs: Were looking for someone with experience supporting individuals who have high physical and cognitive needssomeone who is extremely patient, attentive, and confident in hands-on care. A positive, playful spirit is a big plus, as my mom responds well to warmth and lightness. We need someone who takes initiative, notices when something needs attention, and can communicate clearly with me if anything comes up. I live far from Syracuse, so its really important to have someone reliable and proactive who can help be my eyes and ears on the ground. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
