About who needs care: Engineer, retired from IBM. Politically right wing. watches Fox News nightly. Never married, no children or living siblings. One close cousin. Has five cardiac-related stents. Needs eyedrops twice a day to counter glaucoma, which is under control, and takes about 19 pills per day, some of which are supplements. Wears hearing aids. Can wash and dress self, walks unassisted when home, cane and/or walker when out. Has no unusual daily routines, NY Giants fan and follows sports, former recreational sailor, member NYAC. Reads two newspapers per day and other material. Live-in girlfriend of 50 years died 11/15/2025 after long illness . Some depression and anger over that plus mild dementia, forgetfulness. About the care needs: Subject has some right wing social views so caregiver would preferably be white or Hispanic male with easy-going personality, female meeting those criteria would be OK as well. Football fan a plus or sports in general. No specialized skills needed except patience. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
