About who needs care: My father uses a walker and often struggles to get in and out of chairs. He tends to trip and fall around the house. Main needs are: 1. Watching him and following him around the house to make sure he does not lose his balance 2. Help getting in and out of chairs. 3. Maybe help when needed with dressing but he still mostly does on his own 4. Help with bathing. He has a shower chair but needs some help washing himself 5. Get him up and moving around to keep him mobile, use his muscles and get the blood flowing. Encouraging him to walk around a bit on the outside deck, or do some light exercises like sit-to-stand repetition in a chair. About the care needs: Someone nice, friendly, gentle. Social but not overly chatty. My mother lives in the home as well and she is fully able bodied ( she cooks, cleans, drives, is super active and completely takes care of herself ) but when dad falls, mom cannot pick him up. Mom also does not watch dad's every move the way an aide would. They have had some part time aides for the past 6-months and he has never fallen when an aide was there. However, he falls often when no aide is there so we are looking for more consistency in coverage Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
