who needs care: This is for my mother who has Ahlzheimer's. My father is currently her primary caregiver and it is getting to be too much for him. He has one home health CNA who he trusts and wishes to continue working with, but we (their kids) would like to supplement that person's hours with more in-home care so he can sleep and be a bit less stressed. About the care needs: My mother is pretty far into her disease and needs help with bathroom use and clean up when she has accidents. I think a gentle, relatively friendly, and quiet type of person would be a good fit. Ideally, we would like someone who can cover some nights so our dad can sleep. He is very healthy and independent, and he would appreciate someone who lets him go about his business as much as possible. It might be nice for him to have some help with meals from time to time. My mother has a very set routine and seems to function pretty well within that routine, so I think he'd like someone who would make it a priority to maintain that routine and help with medication administration, etc. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
