About who needs care: We are looking for some in-home care for my father who has Parkinson's. He lives in a downstairs apartment with my brother's family, but he is needing more help. His wife died of Breast Cancer 15 years ago and then he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. It is gradually getting worse and he has finally agreed to some assistance. He is a wonderful man, and we are trying to improve his daily life. He needs assistance with daily: 1. Meal prep (healthy snacks and meals) 2. Grocery store 3. Household chores and picking up daily 4. Laundry (sheets and clothes) 5. Reminder to take pills on time 6. Encouraged to get out of recliner and walk daily with someone. As much as possible 7. Companionship- but he doesnt want someone to sit and talk to him the entire time. He would actually prefer they help him do things around the house. 8. Possible errands (not many) About the care needs: Our Dad is very laid back. Kind man. Doesn't leave the house much anymore. He has a lot of back pain. We all work, so he needs company and someone to help him with daily living. He loves sports, his grandchildren. He leans more conservative with his views. I think he would enjoy a positive, highly motivated female caregiver. He wants someone that is motivated and doesnt need prompted or told what needs done every day. He would prefer they help him clean, meal prep, go to grocery store, do laundry, change sheets, help him walk, pick up the house, clean kitchen, help him with tasks. He doesn't want someone to just sit and chat with him constantly (some is fine). Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
