About who needs care: My grandma is 94 and lives with my aunt, who is her primary caregiver. We have some in-home services currently (OT/PT every week or so) but would like some more frequent, general care services (such as feeding, companionship, and health device use) to allow family members the chance to rest and take breaks. We have discussed hospice but aren't sure if it's the right call. I don't have a lot of the necessary information (i. e. grandma's insurance/full health details/payments) but wanted to get something started to see what our options might be. About the care needs: Someone kind but firm, with a lot of patience and a sense of humor. My grandma can be resistant to care from family members but is generally receptive to professionals/non-familial carers. Familiarity with BiPAP machines and oxygen tanks/concentrators (grandma is good about the oxygen but frequently complains and fights about wearing the BiPAP). Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
