About who needs care: I have the dual diagnosis of Williams Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder (Severe/Moderate). I have a very strong interest in retro video games and in accessing the internet, which must be very carefully managed by my support staff. I enjoy visiting auto dealerships, various retailers, and low-stress environments that will not trigger some of my unsafe and difficult to manage behaviors. About the care needs: My staff must exhibit a calm & confident demeanor, while also being gentle & soft-spoken in manor. Due to my underlying complexities, I require staff with many years of experience - especially in serving individuals with the unique personality & physical limitations that come from having both Williams and Autism. CPR/1st-Aid/AED certification is required. A clean background check is a must. A minimum of three relevant references will be requested, and all of the references will be interviewed prior to hire. Applicants must have a reliable car, auto insurance, a safe driving record, and be able & willing to drive me to locations in the community. Proficiency in speaking (and writing) English is important. Great schedule flexibility will be expected, as the shifts worked are not always at the same time nor on the same days of the week. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, and mobility assistance.
