About who needs care: 63-year-old male, 9 year stroke survivor, can walk, talk, dress himself, but has some cognitive issues, hard of hearing, so between that and the cognitive deficits, its hard for him to follow a detailed conversation. He needs things explained slowly so he can understand. He is a model railroader and loves to talk trains and setting up his model trains. Ideally, the person can act as a second set of hands to help him with this. He can provide directions, which is what he does with me. Ultimately, the person just needs to be patient and kind and listen to him talk about different things. He was a Chicago tradesman who used to run Buckingham Fountain, so he has lots of stories to tell. About the care needs: Dan just needs someone who is patient and kind. I think he would do best with a male who understands how somethings work. Dan was a tradesman in the City, so finding someone like that would be ideal because they might have some things in common.
