About who needs care: My mother is on hospice care with COPD, high blood pressure, and limited mobility. Care includes medication management, taking vital signs, light housekeeping, meal prep, and mobility assistance. The hospice nurse visits twice per week, and the CNA assists three days per week. I am available for questions and provide detailed instructions on care. My mother likes to sit at home, watch TV, and smoke on the patio (you can watch her from inside to avoid the smoke). She naps frequently and needs encouragement to take meds and meals. About the care needs: An ideal caregiver will be patient and vigilant. I need someone who can give medications based on vital signs and can follow instructions. My mother needs an optimistic person who is a positive influence. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
