About who needs care: What should you know about her? My mom is a 79-year-old woman who lives with me. She is mostly independent, but needs some daily support. She is generally cheerful, mild mannered, and enjoys walks and telling stories. Health/Underlying Conditions: She has mild memory lost as she is in the early stage Alzheimers. She also has high A1c although not diabetic, and takes meds for high blood pressure, thyroid, and has emergency heart meds. While this role does not require medical assistance it's important her companion is comfortable reminding her about meds and providing transportation for outings. About the care needs: Looking for a warm, reliable companion for my mom who can bring positivity and patience to her day. A key part of the role is planning and accompanying her on outings, both free and paid activities such as local events, parks, scenic drives, or museums. You'll research options, handle logistics, and drive her safely to and from outings (admission costs are covered). Occasionally, she may need to be accompanied to a doctors appointment. She takes daily medications, but medical care is not required; simple reminders are helpful. The ideal caregiver is proactive, dependable, patient, enjoys conversation, watching movies, and finding small ways to make each day enjoyable. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
