About who needs care: He has multiple medical issues. Recently spent 7 months in the hospital for Guillain-Barre syndrome. He has regained use of most of his upper body, but is still weak, and has only recently begun being able to move his legs a little bit. He's probably 3-6 months from being able to walk with support. He is also in stage 3 kidney failure, has extremely high blood pressure, history of strokes and TIA's, and an enlarged heart. We're really just looking for help with transporting him in his wheelchair (he can't sit up by himself yet) to and from multiple doctor's appoints and occasionally assisting with tasks such as bathing and dressing him. He's mind is mostly intact, so he helps as much as physically able, but at this time it's not a lot. He also gets very bored and would love someone to just hang out with him. About the care needs: He loves dogs, airplanes, and the color green. He can talk for hours on any of these topics. There are 3 dogs in the house, so the person would need to be comfortable around dogs. Also, we live in a split-level house, so someone strong enough to help carry him in the stair chair up and down the steps to get in and out of the house. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
