About who needs care: Grandmother had a stroke, that caused right-side weakness and is total care. She can stand and pivot, but only with assist. She is cognitively there and can nod to response (yes/no), but cannot respond verbally in full sentences due to aphasia. About the care needs: The care giver should be first and foremost compassionate. The person caring should have knowledge of peri-care or open to learning peri-care; can assist with bathing; can assist with bathroom care like brushing teeth and to the toilet; can assist with changing clothes; assist with food prep (as patient can feed themselves); and can assist with giving medication. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
