About who needs care: My mom was diagnosed with dementia. She is 79, otherwise in very good health but is very quickly losing her short term memory. She still very much wants to be independent but I think its time she stops driving as we are worried she will become anxious and get lost. She loves to shop (although we dont want her buying too much), she enjoys doing puzzles and she loves to bake. I would love a companion for her during the days my father is in dialysis in the mornings. He is 81, with renal failure, congestive heart failures and bladder cancer, but his mind is sharp. I think my mom could use help with very light housework, making healthy meals, going on walks, grocery shopping and in general being a friend and keeping her sharp. About the care needs: Obviously it takes a special person to be in this line of work. I just want a person who is empathetic and sweet, and can navigate tricky situations if she repeats herself or gets agitated. Overall she is not confrontational at all and has always been a very sweet and thoughtful person. She loves children and just needs someone to have conversations and suggest activities and fun things to do to keep her busy. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
