About who needs care: My Uncle Stan has a permanent catheter but is otherwise healthy. He loves to watch films and read books, and he needs a bit of encouragement to walk with a walker or cane. He enjoys walking, but would like someone to walk with him, just around his apartment building. He has a meal service. He needs help getting to and from doctor appointments, and just someone to check in on him a couple days per week. An ideal day for Uncle Stan looks like a cup of tea or coffee with breakfast. Because his meal service focuses on protein foods, on occasion it might be nice for his care giver to make pancakes for him as a treat. After breakfast he would like a walk around his apartment building. Then watching a film or reading, getting to a doctor appointment, etc. About the care needs: Uncle Stan is a kind man, and he relates well to other people with kind hearts. He does need help showering, and his shower is set up with a transfer bench and handheld shower head. He used to love to draw and paint. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
