About who needs care: My 88 yo Dad has middle stage Alzheimers. Otherwise he is in good shape. He can bathe himself, feed himself and get himself dressed with verbal cues. He is no longer able to drive, fix meals, or turn on a TV. He is happiest listening to music and dancing around our kitchen. Ideally he likes to eat breakfast, shower and get ready for the day, take a walk with our little dog Snowman, maybe do some simple exercises, and then listen to music and dance. Then, he likes lunch, nap time, another walk with our dog, and then more music and dancing before his cocktail hour and dinner. He also enjoys old movies, Broadway musicals, and concerts on TV. He was an incredibly important and respected world traveler for PWC during his lifetime, so his decline into confusion and inability to hold meaningful conversations is difficult on him. He is generally pleasant, enjoys laughing, but also can get frustrated when he's struggling for words. A gentle, compassionate person who is not overly directive or talkative is ideal. Also someone in good enough physical shape to go for a mile walk. And someone who appreciates music from the 40s-80s era, as well as open to joining him dancing, would make him happy. He really just wants to keep having fun. About the care needs: Oops, I shared that in last section! Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
