About who needs care: My daughter has a brain injury from a childhood accident. She needs constant supervision as she mentally is one of a 6-year-old. This will never change. She needs a caregiver/companion to go walking with, spend time together exercising, read the bible with her as it is one of her favorite things to do, meal prep as she doesn't understand caloric intake and boundaries around food, and interacting in playtime as she plays as if she is a 6-year-old. She does like makeup and a few activities over the 6-year-old mentality. She is 100lbs overweight and is on a prediabetic diet. I am her mother and her sole caregiver looking for dependable and reliable support that allows me to have time for doctors appointments, studies, and general household needs such as grocery shopping I need to do. There may be some times that I need help getting her to work through Yavapai Exceptional Industries. About the care needs: Heather responds best to humor, she likes to joke about her dog. She doesn't respond to people who come across mean or stern. She needs someone with a caring and light approach while still keeping boundaries. Patience is the best for her with time to adjust to situations. She responds to 15 minute countdowns to things she needs to do. Examples, getting ready to leave, reminding her to take a bath, and getting ready to eat at mealtime. She needs reminders and someone who can help me set up a system of reminders so she can learn to improve her ability to perform tasks on her own. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
