About who needs care: Has been showing above-average blood pressure over the last year. Was diagnosed with Dementia in 2024. Has severe memory issues, and is showing slight signs on incontinence. I worry about her not eating well enough and drinking enough water. I also worry that she might be being taken advantage of by some people who live in her building. I would like someone to be able to take her to appointments and the store when she needs it. Someone who encourages her to be active not just physically, but mentally as well. About the care needs: Mom would do well with someone who can gently encourage her to do things she used to enjoy, and maybe even try new things if she feels comfortable. She needs someone who is gentle and understanding, but can also be firm when it comes to her health. Her doctors need to know how she's really doing, as she forgets to tell them things she's been experiencing for some time. Mom loves to read, and used to love to write as well. Maybe she would enjoy going on trips to book stores or libraries. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
