About who needs care: Had a stroke affecting the right side about 3 years ago. Right arm is nonfunctional with the right leg able to bear some weight but can't be used for mobility. She uses a wheelchair for all movement around the house. She has macular degeneration so her sight is not good for reading but she can see otherwise. She was very active prestroke, volunteering, exercising and being a senior daredevil, skydiving at 85! She needs help transferring, meal prep and med passing. She can eat and toilet by herself. She enjoys listening to books on tape. Light housekeeping could be performed as well. About the care needs: She would personally prefer someone more "experienced"(I won't say older!). Her transfers would be easy 1-person assisted as she is 5'0" and 125lbs. Meds are already sorted and separated and just need to be handed to her or put on the table at lunch. She probably needs a little nudging to be drawn out of her shell, but enjoys conversations otherwise. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
