About who needs care: Need a caregiver to take care of my mother in Pewaukee. Experience with managing & administering medication is required. Light house cleaning is involved such as vacuuming, dusting, & laundry. Duties include meal preparation; assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding meals; providing companionship & social interaction; medication administration; and transfer assistance to/from the wheelchair, recliner, and bed. Preference for a caregiver who is non-smoker & comfortable with dogs. She is estimated to be in the late stages of Cerebrovascular Dementia. She is sliding scale diabetic on Novolog/Humalog in addition to long-acting Lantus insulin. She has macular degeneration in both eyes. Shes had several TIA strokes & a damaging stroke. She has heart issues, is on oxygen during the day, has COPD, & other age-related health challenges. Daughter lives with her but cannot provide the care our mom deserves to remain in her home. She has a caregiver Monday through Friday. She needs a caregiver for Saturdays and Sundays. Prior to being diagnosed with cerebravascular dementia in 2015, she was very active showing horses, doing outdoor yardwork, visiting friends, working at her company, and independtly always on the go.
