About who needs care: Mid Stage Alzheimer's Disease. Very quiet, but has frightened several caregivers away. (They didn't understand it's the disease, not the person who is speaking.) No hobbies, poor eyesight, cannot follow a plot in a book or on TV. Looking for someone who will just be with us and later be able to answer her questions and listen to her concerns - she lives in her own world of hallucinations - so I can have some time to myself. She might accept my "daughter" or my"granddaughter" rather than a care giver. Could use help in grooming , choosing what to wear and organizing personal items. About the care needs: Sympathetic and friendly but on the introverted side. Definitely not extroverted. Experience communicating with an Alzheimer's patient, distracting her from her current concerns, and reassuring her that she is safe. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
