Help needed for my loved one in their 80s - seeking full-time hands-on care. He is a quadraplegic, so caregivers are his hands and feet. Giving medications that are already laid out in daily/weekly pill holders is required. Being a quadraplegic brings about challenges with bowels, nerve pain, muscle loss, etc, on top of the typical 83-year-old issues. He has pills to take 4 times/day. One of your responsibilities will be bathing in a shower chair. Other responsibilities include feeding, meal preparation, and transportation in his adaptable mini-van (doctor's appointments, errands, etc.). Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker. There is a ceiling lift, which is easier than a Hoyer, and there is a Hoyer for backup in case of ceiling lift failure. ROM exercises are important as well to relieve stiffness and muscle atrophy.
