About who needs care: My mother is 85 and suffers from alzheimer, however she has been treated since day one (8yrs ago) and sickness progression has been slow. She is still fully active, can shower, dress and eat on her own. She no longer cooks and needs supervision 24hrs a day. We have a provider Monday thru Friday 9:30 a.m. -2:30pm, need someone to cover hours after that and overnight. Also, she has 2 dogs, they are medium size exterior dogs which we need help to feed. Job role requires some cleaning, some cooking, meds administration but mainly companionship for my mom. She normally sleeps all night but may Wake up in the middle of the night thinking it's in the afternoon. She is not aggressive but we need someone willing to gain her trust. About the care needs: Need someone who speaks Spanish, has patience, is not afraid of dogs, can keep a good conversation with and elder, be creative to keep her interested and busy, and may manage different tasks at the same time. Job is not hard, there will be many hours of nothing to do other than silence and check on the dogs when mom is watching TV or sleeping. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
