About who needs care: Connie had a stroke to multiple areas of her brain in August. She has a right occluded carotid artery and partially occluded left carotid artery. A couple of AVMs in her colon. Broke her left hip 1 week ago. Had surgery. Now in Encompass Rehab for 2 weeks. She lives in Morningstar Assisted Living on the Memory Care Floor. She loves gardening and plants. Connie enjoys books on Audible. She has favorite tv shows she enjoys. Due to her decreased vision from the stroke we will have to come up with some other activities or crafts that interest her. We are looking for a companion/attendant to keep her company during the day and assist her with TV and Alexa. Accompany her to medical appointments. Take her to planned activities at Morningstar and keep her safe. She will be ambulatory when she returns in two weeks from rehab. She is already walking with PT right now. Structure of her day: TBD but help her get dressed for day, take her to meals, help her with hobbies, make sure she is settled for the evening. This can be better defined/adjusted About the care needs: Personality: I would say a caregiver with ability to be firm with Connie but compassionate. Connie battled addiction issues prior to her stroke. She can be cranky in the mornings. Connie would benefit from a caregiver that can develop a relationship with her. Her daughter lives out of state in Salt Lake City. She is unable to be with her mother everyday. Her grandson lives in Houston and is in Med School there so there is a local relative but her daughter Cinnamon is the Power of Attorney. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
