About who needs care: Hello :) I am receiving treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I have two separate needs: 1. Once I am discharged from a longer hospital stay (mid-late December 2025), I need someone to pick me up from the hospital, help me pack and prepare to travel home. We have rented an airbnb and will need assistance prepping for the trip. This includes packing my clothes, preparing my medications so I have enough for travel, clearing out the groceries, taking some items to a donation location, shipping belongings home, running errands etc. 2. I will be returning to Houston frequently for treatments and procedures. I'd like to have a consistent person that I can rely on to be my hospital required "chaperone." This requires being at the hospital during my procedures, communicating with my husband and giving him updates during my procedures, driving me home and generally being helpful. A little bit about me: I'm 37 years old, I am receiving treatment for a rare cancer (synovial sarcoma) and I live on the West Coast with my husband and 4-year-old son. Thankfully, I'm responding well to treatment and I am very able-bodied. I anticipate only needing help the days of procedures. I love spending time outdoors in our mountain town, spending time volunteering at my son's preschool and going on coffee dates with my husband :) A little bit about who I'm looking for: I'm looking for someone who works in the medical field and is familiar with oncology. I'm most comfortable with a female caregiver. This is the ideal role for someone who's looking to pick up some hours on their stretch off. Musts: -Valid Driver's License -Reliable Vehicle -Non-Smoker -Fully up to date on vaccines (including Covid + Flu boosters) -Reliable and able to commit to last minute appointments. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
