About who needs care: We are looking for a respite caregiver for our 18 y/o daughter, Della, on Fridays from 2-7 p.m. and Saturdays for 8 hours (flexible) with room for more hours if wanted. Della has autism and is nonverbal but understands most communication. She is potty trained but wears pull-ups for small accidents (pee) and needs help with toilet hygiene. She uses a feeding tube; we will provide full training and handle feeds until youre comfortable. Our family (mom, dad, and her 21y/o) is home most Saturdays. We need someone to sit with her so we can clean, run errands, or take a break. Della spends most of her time relaxing with her iPad, so there is plenty of downtime (great for students). Caregiver must be 18+ and CPR certified. Duties include supervision, light cleaning (vacuuming snack crumbs), bathroom support, tube feeding, medication assistance, and evening bathing. She may occasionally hit when frustrated; we will always step in whenever needed.
