About who needs care: My mother has Alzheimers, she is still living in her own home, but we'd like to get a caretaker familiar with memory care to visit her a couple times a week at first.. to help her maybe find a hobby, feel less lonely maybe, start to get used to having a caretaker. We would also like a caretakers opinion on how she is doing and if there are any dangers yet of her still living on her own, any red flags that she could leave the gas on the stove or walk out of the house and get lost, or anything like that. Also, does the caretaker think she's still capable of remembering to feed her cats everyday. My brother believes she is still just fine living alone but I have concerns. About the care needs: My mom is a rather controlling person, so I think having any kind of caretaker may be difficult at first, but maybe she would like it, I don't know. She is also a bit OCD about cleaning her house, she is always up cleaning and doesn't sit down often. Unfortunately her only hobby is drinking a bottle of wine every night, but we hope to switch her to non alcoholic wine asap. Unfortunately she never seems to forget to drink wine even though she forgets many other things. She likes to go for walks on the beach most days, depending on weather, so I guess that is a hobby too.
