About who needs care: My sister had a moderate stroke a year ago. She's been taken care of by family up until now. But it's time for someone else to help with this. She lives with family and is unable to live on her own or work. She also is a type 2 diabetic. We believe she is autistic that was never diagnosed as a child. Self awareness seems to be the biggest issue. She knows she's had a stroke and seems to enjoy people taking care of her. Reminders needed for many things. Short term memory is touch and go. Normal conversations are held most the time. Partial right vision impaired from the stroke. But after a year it's wearing on the family member taking care of her since she's trying to work a full time job on a dairy farm (never ending, always there). Looking for nearly anything to help alleviate the pressures. Mornings to get going for the day, sometimes going for a walk or exercises/memory excercises and evenings preparing to go to bed. Some meal prep. Preferably any day of the week. Very flexible scheduling. About the care needs: My sister was an electrical engineer living in downtown Chicago. Born and raised on a dairy farm but the farm isn't her. Loves searching for genealogy items/info. So most any personality type would be fine. She needs someone to nudge her to do things , give her that reminder, push for exercise and memory games. She can be sedentary. Some basic physical therapy a bonus. Someone to give family members a trusted person to rely on for help. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
