About who needs care: Alzheimer's Mid to Advanced Stage. I am a very capable spouse (husband) in good physical shape at 75, but I need mental breaks and practical breaks to get out of the house and run errands and still live my own life. I have been taking on more and more as her condition has worsened. My wife is a loving woman with a long history of teaching - which she loved. She loved teaching more than anything else in life (as a HS teacher and College Professor). Hobbies? That is tougher, but we could come up with some things to pass time. An ideal day would be eating well, moving without pain and positive supportive companionship. She will typically ask the same questions an unlimited amount of time unless strategies we use help get her off topic. Thank you. About the care needs: Patience x 100. Kindness and companionship. Very little needed in the way of tasks. I would be paying for reliability, responsibility of following through on keeping appointments and then positive, patient companionship when I am not at the house. Sometimes I may be at the house as well. Services needed include: companionship.
